Music Ministries The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary, from late August through the end of May the following year.We sing at the traditional services, alternating services (8:00 AM one week and 11:00 AM the next week except for Festival Sundays when we sing at both services!) We arrange for “special music” to enhance the worship experience for the congregation, especially for the “alternating” service where the choir is not present. We also have a contemporary worship team leading music at the 9:30 service each week. Rehearsals are hard work, but there is lots of laughing, too. PLEASE contact either of “the Debs” if you are interested in joining the choir, offering special music, or participating in the bell choir. Our Lenten Taizé services last spring were well received, and we are planning monthly Taizé services this fall on Sunday evenings at 6:30. This contemplative candlelight service of simple chants, prayer, and Scripture will offer sung prayer, periods of silence, and a gentle, contemplative setting in which to worship. The 45-minute service will be enhanced with music provided by instrumentalists and a choral ensemble. If you would like to participate as a musician or singer, please call Sunny Fichtl (459-2081) or Karen Stahl (458-8261). We look forward to worshipping together with you in the spirit of Taizé.
The hand bell choir, directed by Phil Wralstad, rehearses Thursday mornings at 10 in the choir room. |
