**2012 Home for the Burgos family is now finished.** We made slow and steady progress on the 2012 house in Agua Prieta, Mexico this year. The Burgos family was very helpful and brought us tamales for lunch one day. Some days we had help from the Engineers without Borders, a small group of UA engineering students. We averaged just 6 people from SELC this year each workday. Without the help of others (Tucson group and the engineer students) we wouldn't have been able to finish the house in the 9 week period it took this year. We need to change our plan for next year, as it is getting too hard on the few that participated this year. Thank you to all who did assist this year.
Original announcement We have begun to build a new home just across the border in Agua Prieta, Mexico. We will work on Saturdays until the home is finished. The family we are building for is Daniel and Xochitl Burgos and their two children, Daniela, 7 years old and Jan Carlos, 5 years old. The family helps us with the project and is living with relatives nearby. This new home, funded by our church, will make a lasting impact on their lives and bless your life as you work and fellowship with others. There is something for all ages and skill levels to do! Please come join us! Meet at SELC at 7:30 and drive together to Douglas or meet us at the McDonalds in Douglas at 8:30. Any questions, please contact Christie Brown at 378-2528 or email: cbrown@powerc.net
