History of Our Church

Sierra Evangelical Lutheran Church, founded in 1958, has a rich history.  During this time SELC has had only five senior pastors, a few interium Pastors,  and two associate Pastors.  Under their leadership, over 785 souls were baptized, 750 confirmed, and 405 coupples married.  But those figures do not begin to tell the tale of conscientious prayer and worship, fellowship, and service over the decades. They appear only as numbers, but they deal with people...people Christ loves and for whom he died and rose again.  The Holy Spirit called, gathered, enlightened and endowed with gifts to do ministry.  Not just locally, but globally. 

The original $30,000 church is now over a $2 million facility that houses over 500 baptized members.  Ministry can't be summarized by dollars and numerical figures only.  The evidence however is a generous God who in Christ has called into being a faithful body of believers to continue what was once begun over fifty years ago!
